Day 2 is Over, 37 Remain!
After seven more levels of play here at Resorts World Manila, Day 2 of APT Philippines 2010 is over!
Somyung Sim, who came into the day as chip leader, used his big stack to dominate every table he sat at, accumulating a total of 350,800 by day's end.
Sitting some distance behind him is Mike Puno, who was involved in some big hands throughout the day. None was bigger than his confrontation with Neil Arce, where he surged to more than 250,000 in chips.
One interesting thing to note is that among the 37 remaining players, there are two father-son tandems still in play. One is the pairing of Wally Sombero and his son Brian, while the other is Benjie Lim and his son Stephen. All four will be looking to charge into Day 3 with some big wins to help boost their stacks.
The last 37 players will return here tomorrow at 1:00 pm for Day 3. Check out the notable chip counts below. See you all then!

Opponent:
Nam was in big trouble with the dominated hand and stayed behind on the flop of .
The turn did not change anything, although he did pick up extra outs.
"Nam will need a three or a five to stay alive," remarked tournament director Lloyd Fontillas.
That's exactly what he got as the on the river gave him two-pair, keeping him alive with less than 25 minutes left in the day.
Alex Makes His Exit

Alex Pagulayan, who mentioned to everybody earlier that he was proud to have made it to Level 14, has just busted out of Day 2.
Pre-flop, Alex went all-in from the button and Somyung Sim, who had limped in from the cut-off, made the call.

When the turn card came, Kai bet out 15,500 and Nam made the call again.
It was the same case on the river as Kai bet out for 22,000. Nam thought about if for a while and finally called but just mucked his hand as Kai showed
.
A few hands later, Nam got hit again as he got it all-in against a short-stack. Nam had but would need to catch cards against his opponent's

Staying alive, the player hit a pair at the flop and even had a gut-shot at the straight.
The turn was of no help to both players. But the river
made it trips for Han who pointed to his 7-win logo in front of his shirt showing the table where he got the lucky seven at the river!
Han graciously shook the hand of his opponent, who disappeared so fast that we could not even get his name.
