The Day 1b flight of the 2010 Crown Aussie Millions Poker Championship Opening Event has come to a close, with 60 players remaining out of the 327 that started today.
Despite losing 30,000 in the last hand of the day, Jim Mastorakos tops our counts with 174,700 in chips, followed by Dean McIver, whose late charge saw him move up to 155,800. Kerry Stead (131,700), Trung Tran (130,100) and Sarvesh Pershad (129,000) round off our top five.
Other notables who will be back for a shot at the first Aussie Millions championship ring include Jimmy Wong (74,400), Ben Savage (71,200), Brendon Rubie (65,200), Dennis Huntly (52,200) and Stephen 'The Big Show' Topakas (27,600).
Three Aussie Millions Main Event champions, Stewart Scott, Tony Bloom and Lee 'Final Table' Nelson, are just two of the big names who could be digging up another AUD $1,100 for tomorrow's repechage, along with Gary Benson, Leo Boxell, Andrew Jeffreys, Julian Powell, Tino Lechich, Marsha Waggoner and Tony Dunst.
However we expect that these big names are going to be running into some familiar faces with equally impressive poker CV's tomorrow - remember, new entries can also be taken as well!
To find out who they might be, join us tomorrow at 12.30pm AEDST for all the action in Day 1c of the Crown Aussie Millions Poker Championship Opening Event - until then, ciao for now!
