Bag and Tag Time

With our last elimination, the field is now down to nine. All the players have bagged and tagged their chips and Day 1 of the $1,100 Pot Limit Omaha event has come to a close.

160 players hit the felt today for the fourth event of the 2010 Aussie Millions. 16 players made the money today and the final nine will be back tomorrow with their eye on the top prize of $40,000 AUD and of course, the championship ring.

The field was littered with familiar faces in the likes of Grant Levy, Stewart Scott, Eric Assadourian, Rayan Nathan, Lee Nelson, Josh "JJProdigy" Field, Vanessa Selbst, and Dan Shak.

Pritchard Out in 10th; Final Table Set

Moments ago, Jason Pritchard was eliminated from the tournament by big stack Oliver Gill, slimming the field to nine and setting the stage for tomorrow's final table.

Gill opened the pot with a raise to 7,500 and was called by Pritchard (button) and Con Angelakis in the small blind.

The flop came down {A-Spades}{4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Angelakis checked to Gill who fired a bet of 15,000. Pritchard then moved all in for 57,000 and Angelakis got out of their way. Gill made the call and the following showdown ensued:

Gill: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Pritchard: {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

The turn and river then filled out {7-Spades}, {6-Clubs} and Gill's king kicker held up to take down the pot, knocking Pritchard out in 10th place.

Marty Smith Eliminated in 11th Place ($2,000 AUD)

Annette Obrestad has picked one off. Leaving us with ten players. Annette raised pot preflop. Marty Smith repotted and Annette moved all-in. Smith quickly called tabling {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{k-Spades}{2-Spades}. Annette showed {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

Board: {2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Annette had Smith covered sending him to the rail in 11th place. Annette's stack is hovering around 145,000 now.

Singing a Sad Song

Damien Elsing has just been eliminated from the tournament in 12th place by Team PokerStars Pro Emad Tahtouh.

Tahtouh opened the pot with a pot-sized raise from the button and when the action reached Elsing in the big blind, he moved all in. Tahtouh made the call and the cards were tabled:

Tahtouh: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}
Elsing: {A-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}

The board then ran out {10-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} giving Tahtouh two pair, kings and tens, to send Elsing to the rail.

After the hand, Tahtouh stacked up 140,000 in chips.

Emad Making Moves

Team PokerStars Australia Pro Emad Tahtouh is now sitting with just over 100,000 in chips after a recent hand against Ryan Gutch.

Gutch opened the pot with a button raise to 6,500 and Tahtouh made the call from the small blind.

The {3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{Q-Spades} board was checked down to the river where Tahtouh fired a 10,000 bet. Gutch made the call and Tahtouh tabled {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for the nut flush and Gutch mucked.

Gill Picks Up a Few Chips

Oliver Gill in the cut off made a raise to 5,500. Jason Pritchard from the small blind raised the pot. Gill made the call.

Flop: {9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

After the flop, Pritchard made it 20,000. Gill repots, committing himself to the hand. Pritchard quickly folds. Gill mucks.
