Italian Hopes Stay Alive

[user153638]

Angelo Recchia raised to 120,000 under the gun only to have Ludovic Lacay three-bet to 250,000 a couple of spots over. The rest of the field got out of the way, Recchia four-bet to 520,000, and Lacay moved all in. Recchia, who is the last Italian remaining in the tournament, called off for 1.58 million and the cards were turned up.

Showdown
Lacay: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Recchia: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}

It was a flip, and one that came down in Recchia's favor as the {4-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{9-Clubs} board failed to help Lacay.
