Players Showing Caution as Day 1A Ends

[user133555]
On one of the last hands of the day, two players put the brakes on aggressive play despite having big hands.

Pre-flop, the under-the-gun player raised to 6,000 and was called by someone in middle position.

After a flop of {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts}, the UTG player bet 10,000 and was called by his opponent.

Both players checked on the {6-Hearts} turn and the {4-Spades} river.

When the cards were shown, the UTG player showed pocket queens, but those were trumped when the other player showed pocket kings.

With less than twenty minutes in the day, Mark Lamera manages to pick up some chips in preparation for Day 2.

Mark bet 5,000 pre-flop and was called by the big blind, Kim Tae Hyung.

The flop came out {3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and both players checked.

The {k-Spades} landed on the turn, prompting a bet of 7,000 from Mark.

After Kim Tae called, the river card came {6-Diamonds}. Mark pushed all-in, forcing his opponent to make a difficult decision. After tanking for a long time, Kim Tae finally folded to give Mark the pot.

Board of Hearts Keeps Player from Elimination

One of the players on Table 2 who does not want to give us his name has just avoided elimination in a big way.

The player got it all-in pre-flop with {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} only to be called by a player with {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}.

However, luck would shine on him today when the entire board ran out with hearts, giving both the heart flush and a split pot.

Bernard Flops Straight and Wins

On a flop of {10-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades}, the player on the small blind bet 4,000 only to get re-raised by Bernard Bensimon to 14,000. The small blind made the call.

The turn fell {5-Diamonds} and the small blind player checked only to have Bernard bet all-in. The opponent tanked for about two minutes before making the call for his whole stack of about 30,000 and showing two-pair {j-Clubs}{10-Spades} against Bernard's straight with {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}.

The river came the {k-Hearts} and Bernard scooped in the 100,000 plus pot.

With more than half of level 9 remaining, another player has been eliminated.

Pre-flop, August Martinez raised to 3,800 and was called by Kim Tae Hyung.

Flop: {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Both players checked to see a turn card of {9-Diamonds}. Kim Tae Hyung bet 5,500, which was called by August.

On the river of {a-Hearts}, Kim Tae bet 12,800, which prompted August to re-raise all-in. Kim Tae instantly called and showed {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a full house.

Martinez, on the other hand, just mucked his cards and left the table after busting out.
