Lei Long Grabs the Lead After Bouncing Two Out

Lei Long

Just as we were posting the top chip counts for the day, a new chip leader has emerged after a big three-way pot that saw Charles "Mr. Macau" Chua make his exit from Day 1C.

Pre-flop, a large crowd gathered as Mr. Macau went all-in for about 11,500 in chips and got a call fro the button. Action shifted over to Lei Long, who declared he was re-raising all-in! The button made the call and we were in for a showdown:

Mr. Macau: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Button: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Lei: {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

Mr. Macau maintained his lead in the main pot as the flop came {3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} while the button kept his lead in the side pot.

That changed when the {6-Spades} landed on the turn, pairing Lei's hand and causing the button to curse out loud in disgust as he saw his grasp over the side pot disappear.

He wouldn't be the only unlucky one -- the {a-Diamonds} appeared on the river, giving Lei the side pot and the main pot with two-pair!

With that big win, Lei is up to about 65,000 in chips while Mr. Macau and the other player hit the rail.

"Don't worry, Mr. Macau intends to play every day," remarked tournament director Danny McDonagh. "He'll be back later for Day 1D."
