Fan Liu

The chip leader, Fan Liu, has just eliminated Yoshitaka Oku.

Oku pushed all in with his stack of 41,000 from under-the-gun and got a call from Fan.

Oku: {4-}{4-}
Fan: {j-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The flop {10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{k-Clubs} gave top pair to Fan. After the turn {5-Spades} and river {j-Hearts}, Oku made his way to the exit.

Becker Gets Decked (13th, HK$43,000)

Richard Becker
Richard Becker

Richard Becker had the Big Slick when he decided to go up against the chip leader in Fan Liu. Shoving in around 80,000, Liu went for it and made the call with {J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

The flop {2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} would provide the opening Liu needed for him to win this one despite trailing in the hand. The turn {9-Diamonds} gave him the lead and shut the door on Becker.

The rich gets richer and well, the poor get booted out.

Ben Abrahams
Ben Abrahams

Ben Abrahams just keeps on going and going and going...

From the button, Abrahams went all in after Masanori Yoshida raised to 12,000. The Japanese immediately made the call.

Abrahams: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Yoshida: {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

The flop {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades} gave Yoshida a bit of hope for a straight but the turn {8-Hearts} and river {9-Diamonds} blanked out as Abrahams even had trips for the double up.

Holt Boots Out Nakabo (15th, HK$35,800)

[user163836]
Dean Holt
Dean Holt

From under the gun, Dean Holt called the big blind while the players after him folded except for Hirotoshi Nakabo, in the small blind, who went all-in. After the big blind folded, Holt did the quick call and we had a showdown.

Nakabo:{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Holt: {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

The flop {A-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds} paired both players but Holt still had the upper hand. The turn{7-Hearts} was of no consequence and the river {A-Diamonds} added insult to injury as Nakabo made his exit from the area.

Yoshida Doubles Up Off Compatriot

[user163836]
Masashi Minowa
Masashi Minowa

Pre-flop, Masashi Minowa bet around 15,000. Most of the table folded except for one, Masanori Yoshida another Japanese player who went all in with a little over 16,000. Of course, it was an easy call for Masashi

Minowa: {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Yoshida: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

Yoshida would hit at the flop{J-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for his trips as the turn {6-Hearts} and river {10-Diamonds} blanked out.

Yoshida stays alive with over 34,000 chips.

Devan Out in Two Hands

[user133557]
Devan Tang
Devan Tang

Devan Tang has just been eliminated from the tournament and here are his last two consecutive hands...

First Hand:

Devan called Jason Coe's all in shove before the flop. Devan's {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} would not hold up as Jason's {4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} made a pair on the board {2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

This left Devan with only 6,000 in chips.

Last Hand:

Devan had to push his remaining stack from the button and got the call from the big blind, Wai Cheng Keong.

Devan's {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} fell behind Wai Cheng's {j-Spades}{9-Clubs} on the flop {j-Hearts}{q-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Although the turn {k-Clubs} gave Devan hope for a straight, the river {q-Diamonds} did not oblige.
