After eight levels of play, Day 1A has finally come to an end with one-third surviving the field of 120 players.

Today’s tournament saw the local poker scene well-represented by the likes of 2009 APT Philippines Champion Neil Arce, Mark Rivera, Wally ‘The Dream’ Sombero, Jojo Tech, Mark Pagsuyuin, George 'BuddhaGeorge' Lim and Vic De Guzman. Although out of whom, we will only see Mark Rivera, George 'BuddhaGeorge' Lim and Mark Pagsuyuin on Day 2.

The surprise for today is the emergence of a silent chip leader – Michael Dario. He quietly built his stack to 87,600. We will find out more about Michael as he leads the remaining 40 players from Day 1A to Day 2 on Sunday for the Resorts World Manila Inaugural Poker Championships.

The player who was under-the-gun raised pre-flop to 1,600. Bert Gloton who was in middle position flat-called.

The flop: {4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

The original raiser checked the flop. This action gave Bert the opportunity to make a move and he bet 4,000. Bert's opponent tanked for a few seconds and eventually folded his hand.

Mark Rivera has taken down one of the biggest action pots of the night.

After Mark's raise was re-raised on the river, Mark tanked and made the call. He showed {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} while the other player showed suited number cards.

They both missed the community cards and Mark's king high was good enough to take the pot down.
