Alioto Bubbles

Dario Alioto brought-in and Men Nguyen called.

"I'll give you two options. If you check, I'll bet, and if you bet I'll raise you" stated Nguyen.

Alioto looked down at his last 12,000 and deliberated for nearly two minutes before pushing in 8,000 only to have Nguyen two-bet him. Alioto called and everyone surrounded the tables to sweat the possible impending bubble.

Alioto: {8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} / {2-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Nguyen: {A-Spades}{7-Clubs} / {7-Hearts}{3-Spades}

Alioto caught the {7-Spades} and {6-Diamonds} while Nguyen caught the {9-Hearts} and {5-Clubs} to keep 'The Master' in the lead.

Alioto was dealt seventh street and quickly flipped it over to reveal the {K-Hearts} to put him in the lead.

"I guess it's all on me baby" uttered Nguyen as he slowly squeezed out the {3-Hearts} to improve his hand to two pair while sending all the players - albeit Aliot0 - into the money!

Quads in Five for Cassidy

[user75032]

An open pair of aces by fifth street was the kiss of death for Joe Cassidy. He was in a hand against Eric Buchman, and Buchman quickly folded when he saw the open pair. Cassidy turned up two more aces underneath for quads.

"Boy, that ace really killed your action," said Buchman.

"You couldn't be rolled up just once?" asked Cassidy.

Still Hand-for-Hand

[user75032]

It's the never-ending bubble. The decision to freeze the clock seems to have frozen the players. Dario Alioto is still the short stack, but he has about 55,000. That's 3.5 big bets. The antes are grinding people down a bit, but even at 2,000 Alioto still has time.

Some Updated Chip Counts

[user80015]

Here are the current chip leaders.

Sirious Jamshidi - 510,000
Michael Mizrachi - 500,000
Vladimir Schmelev - 440,000

And here are the players sitting on the bottom.

Dan Heimiller - 110,000
Pat Pezzin - 100,000
Joe Cassidy - 90,000
Dario Alioto - 60,000

One Pair of Jacks Takes It for Schmelev

[user75032]

Nguyen: (X) (X) / {6-Diamonds} {q-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} / (X)
Schmelev: (X) (X) / {j-Spades} {a-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {6-Hearts} / (X)

Stud is supposed to be a race to two pair, but sometimes one pair is good enough to win the pot. Vladimir Schmelev completed third street and was called only by the bring-in, Men Nguyen. Schmelev bet fourth and fifth streets before check-calling a bet on sixth street. At the river, both players checked it down. Schmelev opened up one pair of jacks, {8-Hearts} {j-Clubs} {3-Spades}, to win the hand.

Third Seven On Seventh For Bronshtein

Men Nguyen completed for 8,000 only to have Yuval Bronshtein two-bet to 16,000. Next to speak, Dario Aliota three-bet to 24,000, and once Nguyen folded, Bronshtein called.

Aliota led on fourth and fifth with Bronshtein calling before he took the led on sixth by firing out 16,000 with Aliota smooth-calling.

Before seventh was dealt, Bronshtein checked darked and Aliota fired out 16,000 after looking down at his seventh street card.

Bronshtein deliberated for over two minutes before opting to raise to 32,000 before Aliota also took his alloted time before calling.

Bronshtein: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} / {Q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} / {7-Spades}
Aliota: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} / {10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts} / {8-Spades}

With Bronshtein improving to a full house on seventh, he raked in the pot to climb to 180,000 as Aliota slips to just 80,000 in chips.
