Event #20: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha

Albertson's Down Then Up

Cory Albertson doubled Michael Mixer after the two were all in preflop. Mixer's aces held doubling him to 50,000 chips and Albertson slipped to 175,000 chips.

A few hands later Albertson was all in against Jonathan Swick for a 260,000-chip pot. Albertson held {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Swick had {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}.

The board ran {6-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Albertson doubled to 262,000 chips.

A Little Goes Along Way

But not quite long enough to capture bracelet gold. "Made top 2 against top set for 15bbs. Pretty disappointing day," according to his Tweet.

Great Scott; Costa Extends Chip Lead

Peter Costa
Peter Costa

Thomas Redfern limped, Peter Costa called from the big blind, Scott Montgomery made up the small blind and Trai Dang checked his option in the big blind.

Flop: {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

Montgomery bet 16,000, Dang folded, Redfern folded, Costa raised to 48 and Montgomery called all in.

Montgomery: {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Costa: {Q-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts}

Turn: {6-Spades}

River: {3-Clubs}

Costa takes out Montgomery to extend his lead to 380,000. He now has 120,000 more than Nenad Medic in second place and won't have been this excited since his honeymoon!

Double Your Pleasure

Michael Shklover recently doubled here in Event #20.

His first double-up was through Michael Mixer. Shklover got his last 14,000 chips in preflop and Mixer was his only customer.

Shklover opened {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and was against Mixer's {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

Shklover successfully cracked Mixer's kings when the board ran {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, doubling him to 30,000 chips.

A few hands later he was all in again - this time John "Tex" Barch had him at risk.

Shklover was behind a big pair once again. Barch held {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Shklover's {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} needed to improved.

The {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{J-Spades} flop was a monster for Shklover though, and Barch couldn't find an ace on the turn or the river.

After two doubles, Shklover is sitting with 64,000 chips.

Can't Do It

Trai Dang opened to 12,000 form under the gun and Quinn Do re-raised to 25,000. Dang moved all in and Do called putting himself at risk:

Dang: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Do: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

The {J-Spades}{3-Spades}{A-Hearts} flop all but ended it, and the {J-Clubs} on the turn did the deed. The river {7-Hearts} was but a formality and Do hit the rail.

Dang is now sitting with 170,000 chips.

Sylvestre Bluffs Medic Again

Yesterday, Charles Sylvestre and Nenad Medic butted heads a number of times over in the Pavilion Room. Sylvestre was quick to bluff and even quicker to show.

Medic and Sylvestre were heads up in a pot at the feature table moments ago after Sylvestre raised preflop out of position. The flop fell {2-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{10-Spades} and Medic check-called a 15,000-chip bet from Sylvestre.

The turn brought the {4-Diamonds} and Medic checked again. Sylvestre took his time before finally pushing a tower of 35 yellow T1,000 chips forward. Medic cut out several orange T5,000 and stared down Sylvestre but eventually folded.

Sylvestre's face lit up like a child on Christmas and he opened {8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for yet another bluff.

"I was on the gut-shot," Sylvestre cracked. "Forget the bluff."

Sylvestre is now sitting with 170,000 chips and Medic is quite fine with 200,000 chips.

Steely Steals One

Jared Ingles raised to 10,000 and received two callers: Steve Burkholder in early to middle position and Chase Steely in the big blind. On the {Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop, Steely bet the pot, Ingles folded, and Berkholder re-potted. Steely pushed all in and Berkholder called.

Berkholder: {10-Spades}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Steely: {Q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Turn: {4-Spades}
River: {J-Diamonds}

Berkholder - 64,000
Steely - 160,000
