Event #20: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha

Day 2 in the Books

Nenad Medic

And then there were nine.

Coming into the day it was fair to say that all eyes were on a pair of young guns; Jason Mercier and Steven "pikappraider" Burkholder. Those two final tabled this event last year, but were both eliminated during the day today unable to make a repeat performance.

Experience is still key however as four of our nine remaining players have made deep runs at the World Series. Nenad Medic (1), Blair Rodman (9), Trai Dang (1) and John "Tex" Barch (2) have all made final tables, but Medic and Rodman are the only bracelet owners.

Medic is our chip leader entering Day 3 with 1,504,000 chips and the closest player, Tex Barch, is nearly a million chips behind with 546,000.

Ashkan Razavi, Tyler Patterson, Chris Hyong Chang, Denton Pfister and Klinghammer Thibaut round out our final nine.

Event #20 will resume tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. PST, and we will play until the bracelet is claimed. Until then enjoy your night/morning/afternoon or whatever time of day it is!

Oh and LET'S GO USA!

Peter Costa Eliminated in 10th Place ($15,197)

Well that was quick.

With the board reading {J-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts}, Nenad Medic bet 120,000 and Peter Costa moved all in. Medic called and the hands were tabled:

Medic: {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Costa: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{4-Clubs}

Costa was drawing to two aces after Medic turned jacks full of fives, and after the {3-Diamonds} rivered he was officially eliminated.

Costa will receive $15,197 for his efforts and Medic will be our chip leader with 1,504,000 chips heading into the official final table tomorrow.

After a long, hard-fought day, we're now down to our final 10 as the remaining players have combined to form our 'unofficial' final table. One man who won't be returning tomorrow is online prodigy Christian "Charder" Harder.

Along with blinds Tyler Patterson and Peter Costa, Harder saw a {3-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop where Costa led for 25,000. Harder made the call and Patterson folded.

A {4-Diamonds} hit the turn, and Costa continued his aggressive streak, firing out a bet of 80,000 to virtually put Harder all in. With 105,000 left, Harder slid in his remaining stack and Costa made the obligatory call. But this wasn't just a pot-committed call; Costa had the nuts...

Harder: {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} X X
Costa: {Q-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Spades}

River: {7-Spades}

Costa - 525,000

Costa Coolers Pfister

Four players including Nenad Medic, Denton Pfister, Tyler Patterson and Peter Costa saw a flop of {4-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}. All four players checked, and the turn brought the {4-Clubs}.

Costa and Medic checked, Pfister bet 15,000, Patterson folded, Costa raised to 35,000 and Pfister called.

The river brought the {10-Clubs} and Costa led for 95,000. Pfister moved all in and Costa snapped it off.

Pfister tabled {K-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Spades} for tens full of fours but Costa opened {k-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a better full house; jacks full of fours.

Costa is up to 350,000 chips whereas Pfister slipped to 205,000.

Somebody Call a Medic

Nenad Medic and Peter Costa were two of four players to see an {A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop with the latter seated in the big blind. With both blinds checking, Medic led for 25,000; Just Costa made the call.

The {7-Diamonds} turn triggered another bet from Medic, this time to the tune of 40,000, and, again, Costa made the call.

On the {9-Diamonds} river, Costa check-called a third bet of 75,000, albeit after tanking, but mucked upon being shown {10-Spades}{J-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Spades}.

Costa now struggling with 155,000.
