Event #6: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout

Jaka > Bonomo

Faraz "The-Toilet" Jaka climbed all the way back and eliminated Justin Bonomo to advance to Day 2. We missed the hand, but Jaka was kind enough to give us the scoop.

According to Jaka, he opened to 2,600 and Bonomo shoved for around 30,000. Jaka called and the hands were tabled:

Jaka: {6-}{6-}
Bonomo: {K-}{J-}

Jaka won the race, flushing Bonomo from the tournament.

Amit Exits, Nuijten Progresses

Amit Makhija opened to 3,000 form the button only to have Julien Nuijten bump it to 8,700. Makhija shoved for roughly 42,000 and Nuijten made the call.

Makhija: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Nuijten: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {A-Spades}{8-Spades}{K-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} to see Makhija eliminated as Nuijten progresses through to round two.

Morrison Bubbles Again, Channing Wins!

Kirk Morrison pushed his last 20,000 into the pot from the button and was immediately called by Neil Channing.

Morrison: {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Channing: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

The flop of {9-Spades}{3-Spades}{Q-Spades} gave Morrison a set but still left Channing drawing to a spade or running cards for a straight.

Unfortunately for the $50,000 Poker Players Championship bubble boy, Morrison would see the {J-Clubs} and {10-Hearts} fall on the turn and river to see him bubble his second event for the series as Channing progressed through to round two.

Dinner Over

The remaining players have all returned from their dinner break.

For those that decided against a dinner break, they have their own individual clock and have just ticked into the 600-1200 and 200-ante level.

Kabrhel KO'd by May

Benjamin May opened the button for 3,000 only to have Martin Kabrhel ship his last 14,000 into the middle. May made the call and the cards were tabled.

May: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Kabrhel: {A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{6-Spades} to put Kabrhel on the rail and May into the second round.

Bonomo Slips Behind

On a flop of {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds} Justin Bonomo fired out 4,000 and Faraz Jaka check-called to see the {5-Hearts} land on the turn.

Jaka led out for 9,000 and Bonomo called before the {K-Spades} landed on the river. Taking his time, Jaka checked before Bonomo fired out 23,000 only to have Jaka call after some careful deliberation.

Bonomo tabled his {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, but it would be Jaka's {K-Clubs}{9-Hearts} enough to take down the pot and see 'The-Toilet' climb to 90,000 as Bonomo slips to 60,000 in chips.

Jaka Doubles

Faraz Jaka is still a 2:1 dog right now against Justin Bonomo, but he just received a much needed double up.

Jaka and Bonomo got it all-in preflop holding {A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and {A-Spades}{7-Hearts} respectively. The board ran {2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{9-Spades} doubling Jaka to 50,000 chips and dropping Bonomo to 100,000.

Been Progresses, Junglen Falls

On a board of {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-} both Adam Junglen and Aaron Been exchanged chips before Been check-raised all in when the {3-} fell on the turn.

Junglen made the call tabling {8-Spades}{6-Hearts} to be in great shape to double against Been's {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, but when the {4-Diamonds} was delivered on the river, Junglen fell to the rail as Been progressed through to round two.

Jaka Slipping

Faraz Jaka opened to 2,500 from the button and Justin Bonomo bumped it to 8,000.

Jaka made the call to see a {4-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop fall and a 8,500-chip bet follow from Bonomo. Jaka made the call and then called 14,000 when the turn dropped the {5-Diamonds}.

When the river fell the {2-Hearts} Bonomo pushed a stack into the middle while announcing he was all-in.

Jaka didn't take too long to find a fold as he slipped to 35,000 while Bonomo took a strong lead with 115,000 in chips.
