2010 World Series of Poker

Event #57: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Championship

Cheong, Nguyen Tangle

Joseph Cheong

There was a raise and a reraise preflop, and we joined the pot as the dealer was spreading out a flop of {K-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} {5-Clubs}. Cuong Nguyen was first to act, and he bet 650,000. Joseph Cheong promptly moved all in for his last 2.62 million, and Nguyen called to put a pot of close to 8 million up for grabs!

Showdown
Cheong: {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} (top pair, top kicker)
Nguyen: {J-Hearts} {J-Spades} (oops!)

The turn {2-Hearts} and river {6-Hearts} kept Cheong's pair safe, and he has doubled up in a big way. We count him at 7.85 million now, while Nguyen has been crushed back to 2.95 million from his high point of close to 7 million.
