It's the very first non-hold'em event of the series, the $1,500 Limit Omaha Hi-Lo event which has had a tradition of being one of the very first events of the series in the last few years. Last year Michael Chow won his first bracelet beating a field of 818 players, including Dan Heimiller and Ylon Schwartz who finished second and third respectively.
Chow is expected in the field today, as are fellow bracelet winners James Dempsey and Jason Mercier. We've been told by the tournament staff that there is already well over 500 players registered, and with late registrations now allowed this year for the first four levels, we can only expect this to rise.
Play will begin at 12pm, so come and enjoy the O8 event, it's the Buick Skylark of poker games.
