Dario Alioto
Dario Alioto

He's on a tear, moments after tripling up Jason Mercier is up to around 170,000 knocking out two players in one hand.

Dario Alioto, Mercier and Daniel Smith were all in before the draw. Mercier and Alioto stood pat and Smith drew two to an {8-}{5-}{2-} but could only show {A-}{10-}. Mercier flipped {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} which had the Italian's pat {10-} crushed. Smith was eliminated and after a countdown, Mercier had his other opponent covered as well. He's up to about 170,000.

Mercier Triples Up, Dan Smith Stays Alive on Mistake

• Level 14: 1,000-2,000, 500 ante

Jason Mercier is at it again, tripling up to 80,000.

Daniel Smith raised from late position to 4,800, then, on the button, Rami Boukai raised to 15,000. After a look at his hand Mercier moved his whole stack in for 26,500. Smith then also moved all in for a total of 31,000. Rami made the call with a chance to knock out two players from the tournament

Mercier was pat, Smith was drawing with a {7-}{6-}{3-}{2-} but paired up with another {2-}, and Rami was drawing with {8-}{7-}{5-}{3-} but hit a {K-}. Mercier showed {10-}{9-}{7-}{6-}{4-} to take down the majority of the pot and triple up to 80,000.

In the hand, Rami did beat Smith's hand with a {K-} to Smith's pair of twos, but after he saw that he had drawn a {K-} and that it didn't beat Mercier's hand, he mucked without thinking of the other player in the pot. Smith is now left with about 4,500 but should be out of the tournament. His (and Mercier's) lucky day.

Tim Phan Eliminated in 22nd Place ($3,237)

• Level 13: 800-1,600, 400 ante

Tim Phan went all in pre-draw on the button, only to be re-raised by Rami Boukai in the small blind and everyone else folded.

Rami showed a pat {10-}{9-}{4-}{3-}{2-} while Phan was drawin to a nine with {9-}{5-}{3-}{2-}. Unfortunately for Phan, he drew a {K-} and his tournament was over.

With 21 players now remaining there was a complete re-draw for the final three tables. Players are moving to their new tables as we speak.

Pearson Hits Big Double Up

Travis Pearson - in the O8 event previously.
Travis Pearson - in the O8 event previously.

Travis Pearson opened for 4,200 and Daniel Smith made it 24,200 only for Pearson to move all in for about 64,000 and Smith made the call.

Smith stood pat and Pearson drew one card to his {8-}{6-}{4-}{2-}, Smith showed a very rough {10-}{9-}{8-}{7-}{4-} but Pearson picked up the {3-} to make an eighty-six perfect and win the biggest pot of the tournament so far.

Smith's Draw is Just Enough

• Level 13: 800-1,600, 400 ante

Daniel Smith opened to 4,800 from the cutoff and then carefully called Bernard Lee's reraise from the button of 17,300. Smith drew one card and Lee stood pat before both players checked.

Smith said, "Ten-nine," and flipped {10-}{9-}{7-}{5-}{2-} - Lee looked pained and mucked his hand.

Bernard Lee Chipping Up

• Level 13: 800-1,600, 400 ante

Dan Smith in the small blind raised pre-draw and Bernard Lee called in the big blind and each player drew one.

Dan Smith made a large bet of 20,000 and after a little bit of a tank, Lee called with a {9-}{8-}{6-}{5-}{4-} and Smith mucked saying he had a pair.

Lee is up to 70,000 and Smith is down to 56,000
