Players Complaining

Many players have been complaining about the lack of big chips in play here in the Monster Stack as some players - such as Zachary Gruneberg - have been sitting with over 2 million in orange 5,000-denomination chips to go along with his 25,000 and 100,000-denomination chips.

Although the call for bigger denomination chips were made quite a while ago, it has taken until now for them to be introduced.

And unfortunately the only chips available are a brownish-oreo colored 50,000-denomination chip, and due to the lack of chips, only two racks totaling 10 million have been introduced into play spread amongst three players; Gruneberg, Bobby Byram and Sean Drake.

Sean Drake opened to 325,000 and Mark Peckham three-bet shoved all in. After getting a quick count, Drake made the call, putting Peckham at risk.

Drake: {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Peckham: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Peckham would get some bad news from the {6-Clubs}{8-Spades}{a-Hearts} flop as Drake paired his ace. The {2-Clubs} on turn gave Peckham a few more outs, but the {q-Spades} on the river left him off the final two table redraw.

Peckham Cracks Aces

LaneAnderson • Level 32: 80,000-160,000, 20,000 ante

Mark Peckham has been looking for an opportunity to get it in with his short stack. Sitting in the dealer position, he pushed and was called by the small blind — Bobby Byram.

Peckham: {q-Spades}{8-Spades}
Byram: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

Peckham had the unfortunate luck of having his opponent wake up with the best starting hand in hold'em. The flop of {2-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Spades} gave Peckham outs to a flush, and the {5-Spades} completed it. With Byram holding the best spade, Peckham just had to see a river that was anything but a fourth spade on the board or his opponent would take the lead with the better flush. It was the {10-Diamonds} and Peckham secured the double up.

Austin Bursavich - 20th Place

Zach Gruneberg opened to 375,000 in the hijack, Austin Bursavich three-bet to 780,000 on the button and Gruneberg called to see a {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop. Both players checked, the {5-Clubs} fell on the turn and Gruneberg checked to Bursavich who bet about 550,000. Gruneberg check-raised all in for about another 1.08 millon effective, Bursavich folded and Gruneberg showed {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a double gutter as he collected the pot.

Shortly thereafter, Gruneberg opened to 375,000 from under the gun. Bursavich three-bet to 600,000, Gruneberg shoved for about 1.04 million effective and Bursavich called for his tournament life.

Gruneberg: {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Bursavich: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{J-Spades} as Gruneberg paired his jack on the river to eliminate Bursavich in 20th place.

Pupillo Wins Raising War

[user80015] • Level 32: 80,000-160,000, 20,000 ante

From under the gun, Nicholas Pupillo raised to 330,000 only to have Austin Bursavich three-bet from the small blind to 740,000. With the action back on Pupillo, he four-bet to 1,290,000 and Bursavich called before both players checked the {6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{K-Clubs} flop.

The turn of the {K-Diamonds} saw Bursavich lead for 515,000 only to have Pupillo raise to 1,150,000. Bursavich went into the tank for several minutes before three-betting to 1,800,000.

Pupillo announced he was all in and Bursavich insta-folded to leave himself with just over 2 million as Pupillo climbed to 8.2 million in chips.

Frankland: {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Bursavich: {a-Spades}{7-Spades}

Frankland was ahead and looking for the knockout when the dealer delivered a {5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop. Bursavich had paired up and would score the double up after the {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} fell on the turn and river.
