Spot of Action a Setback for Geshkenbein

[user75032]
Vladimir Geshkenbein
Vladimir Geshkenbein
Vladimir Geshkenbein decided to go for the squeeze. He saw David Hilton open for 1,500 and two players behind Hilton call. When it got to Geshkenbein, he re-raised to 45,000. Geshkenbein smelled something fishy and called all in for 23,500 with {9-Diamonds} {9-Hearts}. Nobody else called, leaving Geshkenbein (holding {10-Hearts} {7-Spades}) with the opportunity to eliminate Hilton. It wasn't to be. Hilton doubled up with a full house, {K-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {k-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}.

Tom Hall Busts Out

[user133555]
After losing a big chunk of his chips over the last half hour or so, Tom Hall has busted out of the tournament.

Hall made one last stand when he pushed pre-flop with {A-Spades} {3-Spades}, only to find himself against a caller, Wei Sha, with {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} to make Sha a flush and eliminate Hall.

Claudia Doubles-up!

[user133554]
As I approached her table Claudia Yum was pushing-in her entire stack of 10,275. Everyone folded around to the small blind who called. Claudia turned over pocket 10s, her opponent showed A 5. With the board a blank for both players, Claudia happily scooped-in the pot.

Carmona Pushes Back to 20K

[user133554]
Don Carmona, playing with a dwindling stack and on the button, received a raise pre-flop from the big blind and called.

Flop {10-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {6-Clubs}

The big blind bet half the pot and Don called.

Turn {2-Clubs}

Big Blind bet half the pot once again. Don tanked for two minutes then shoved all in.

Big blind snap folded. Don's stack returns to just over 20,000.

Small Pots on Table 4

[user75032]
Over on Table 4, we have Mike Spinasanta (one of the chip leaders), the always-solid Tom Hall and the 2009 APPT Macau High Rollers champion, Vladimir Geshkenbein. You might think that line-up would produce lots of action but so far they seem to be avoiding each other. A recent pot was folded to Hall's small blind. He limped in, then called Geshkenbein's raise to 1,400. Hall checked and folded to a bet on a flop of {A-?} {9-?} {3-?} board. Geshkenbein showed {A-?} {3-?}!
