Event 1: $1,100 No Limit Hold'em

Savage Takes One Out

Ben Savage has moved up to 23,000 in chips after raising preflop to 2,500 with {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, only to commit the rest of his stack after an opponent reraised all in for 10,075.

Savage was dominated by the opponent's {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}, but managed to score some good fortune and the opponent's scalp when the board was spread {4-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{a-Spades}.

Doesn't Hurt to Ask ...

Dunst: 'cause every girl's crazy 'bout a sharped-dressed man!
Dunst: 'cause every girl's crazy 'bout a sharped-dressed man!
Tony Dunst moved all in for his last 8,500 with {a-Spades}{7-Hearts} before the flop, only to have a female opponent call him down with {k-Spades}{q-Spades}.

The flop of {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{3-Spades} put Dunst further behind, but the {a-Diamonds} on the turn gave him a handful of outs - and one of them appeared miraculously on the river in the form of the {3-Clubs} - counterfeit!

The lady took it in good grace, but kindly asked, "Am I allowed to swear now?" The rest of the table roared with laughter.

End For Kemp...

Sean Kavita moved all-in for his last 7,000 and Jai Kemp pushed behind for 26,500 from the cutoff. Hamish Modra then called both these pushes from the big blind.

Kavita: {A-Hearts} {K-Clubs}
Kemp: {J-Clubs} {J-Hearts}
Modra: {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}

Kemp must have loved the spot he was in, given the action, to only be facing four outs, but any joy he felt was quickly evaporated when the board came out {4-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {A-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}.

Kavita and Modra split the main pot while Modra picked up a sizeable sidepot, eliminating Kemp as a result.

Sayonara Stewie

Defending Aussie Millions Main Event champion Stewart Scott has just been eliminated by Quoc Nguyen.

Scott moved the last of his money into the middle with {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} but Nguyen woke up with {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}.

The board was spread {a-Spades}{6-Spades}{k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, giving Nguyen top pair and a story to tell the grandkids some day while Scott was given his marching orders.

No Stopping Nelson Now

On a board that read {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, an opponent in early position led out for 6,600 and Lee Nelson called, then called his all-in bet of 8,500 on the river {j-Hearts}.

The opponent rolled up pocket sixes but Nelson had him beat all way with {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}.

Another one bites the dust and the man they call 'Final Table' is now up to 55,000 in chips.

Gao Gobbled Up

Jie Gao was crushed and then busted in the space of three hands.

Gao got it in good in the first hand, calling David Mijalkov's all in bet with {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} against his {K-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

The flop of {a-Spades}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades} improved neither hand and Gao moved further ahead with the {q-Clubs} on the turn. Mijalkov had all but given up hope, reaching over to shake Gao's hand before the dealer produced the river {10-Clubs}, giving him a runner-runner straight!

Mijalkov was delighted and sat back down as the chips were cut out. Gao was left with just 150 in chips and managed to double up to 500, but there would be no miracle as he was eliminated a short time after.

Open The Floodgates

Garry Gates has dropped some chips back, Tony Dunst had opened the cut-off to 1,500 before the button reraised to 4,600 with about 11,000 behind.

Gates flat-called and Dunst folded to leave the remaining two players seeing a {10-?} {7-?} {6-?} flop. Gates checked and then folded when his opponent moved all-in.

Gates dropped to 67,000 as a result.

Haibo Holds On

Haibo Chu has just managed to secure a double-up after getting his money into the middle holding {k-Hearts}{8-Spades} and was best against an opponent's {8-Hearts}{3-Hearts} on a board that read {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.

Chu is now back to 12,000 in chips.
