Event 4: $1,100 Pot Limit Omaha

Bubble Boy, Bandouvakis, Busted Blind

Folded around to the blinds, Jason Bandouvakis in the small blind raised the pot, Oliver Gill repotted blind and Bandouvakis quickly made the call.

Bandouvakis: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}
Gill: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{j-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

Board: {7-Spades}{a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}

Gill turned quad aces and we're now in the money!

Gill Serves a Set

Oliver Gill made it 3,300 from under the gun. Emad Tahtouh called and Michael Zowie made the call as well. The flop comes down {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}.

Gill checked, Emad checked, and Zowie made it 10,000. Gill answered that with a pot raise, Emad folded, and Zowie said, "let's gamble" as he made the call to put him all in.

Turn: {4-Spades}
River: {6-Spades}

Gill: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{a-Spades}{2-Spades}
Zowie: {q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Gill moved up to 150,000 with his set.

We're Ready to Burst

We're now on the bubble. With 17 players remaining, one of the remaining players will walk away with absolutely nothing. The rest will be guaranteed at least $2,000 AUD.

Flopitis for Cotaidis

George Cotaidis has been eliminated from the tournament in 18th place, courtesy of Marty Smith.

Cotaidis limped into the pot from under-the-gun and when the action reached Smith, he raised to 6,000 putting Cotaidis all in. A call was made and the cards revealed:

Smith: {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Cotaidis: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

The {J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop gave Smith top two pair, and that was all he needed to steal the pot away from Cotaidis as the rest of the board filled out {6-Spades}, {7-Diamonds}.

Guzzardi Out Via INSANE Hand

Everyone's favorite Insane Clown
Everyone's favorite Insane Clown
OK... it wasn't really insane, but here's how it went down:

Chip leader and bulldozer Con Angelakis opened the pot with a raise from middle position. Action folded around to Guzzardi on the button and he raised the pot. Angelakis made the call and the two saw a {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop.

Angelakis checked, Guzzardio moved all in and Angelakis called, stating he had nothing but a flush draw:

Angelakis: {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Guzzardi: {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The {7-Diamonds} fell on the turn, giving Angelakis a few extra outs and the {4-Hearts} that fell on the river did Guzzardi in.

After this hand, Angelakis stacked up 224,000 in chips.

Why Is Everybody Always Pickering On Me?

Jamie Pickering has just been eliminated from the tournament by Jason Pritchard.

Pickering opened the pot with a raise to 4,200 from the hijack and Pritchard called from the small blind.

The flop came down {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Pritchard checked to Pickering who moved all in for his last 3,200. Pritchard made the call and tabled {Q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} for a pair of kings. Pickering revealed {6-Clubs}{10-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{J-Spades} for a pair of tens.

The turn and river then filled out {9-Spades}, {J-Clubs} giving Pritchard the nut straight to knock Pickering out of the tournament.

After the hand, Pritchard stacked up 118,000 in chips.

Brammer Busto

We missed the preflop action in this hand, but after the {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} flop, Christopher Brammer made it 5,000. Jason Pritchard made a pot bet. Brammer moved all-in and Pritchard made the call.

Pritchard: {7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Brammer: {q-Spades}{k-Spades}{8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

The turn brought the {10-Spades} and the river brought the {j-Clubs}. Pritchard's full house was enough to send Brammer to the rail.

Wondering How the Rich Got Rich

Con Angelakis is the current chip leader with over 160,000. If you're out there wondering how it happened, we have a story to tell you. We got this second hand, but our sources are pretty credible.

In a three-way pot, Angelakis got his last 3,000 chips in the middle on a {6-?}{5-?}{4-?} flushing board against an unknown hand and {A-?}{A-?}{7-?}{6-?}. Angelakis held {8-?}{7-?}{6-?}{5-?} for the nut straight, which held. And it has been full steam ahead from there.

Tahtouh Doubles

Emad Tahtouh
Emad Tahtouh
Team PokerStars Pro Emad Tahtouh has just doubled through Oliver Gill to move to 32,000 in chips.

Gill opened the pot with a raise to 2,800 from the button and Tahtouh made the call from the big blind.

The flop came {K-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} and Tahtouh bet the pot. Gill then repotted and Tahtouh reraised all-in. Gill made the call and a showdown ensued:

Tahtouh: {Q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Gill: {A-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

The turn and river filled out {2-Diamonds}, {4-Clubs} and Tahtouh took down the pot with a diamond flush.

Gill dropped to 73,000 in chips after the hand.
