Thrill Ride Over

Will "the Thrill" Failla open-shoved for his last 40,000 from middle position with {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. A player called him {a-Spades}{k-Spades}. Failla called for the {6-Clubs}, though that might have caused more problems than it solved. Instead, the board ran out {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. Failla wished his table luck and didn't seem too upset. He'd already moved on to flirting with the dealer who came to take him to the payout desk.

Black Takes a Hit

Andy Black had called an opponent's all in on a board reading {2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}.

Black: {3-Spades}{a-Spades}
Opponent: {10-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{j-Spades} and Black had to give up a good chunk of his stack. He's currently down to 36,000.

"Heart!"

[user153638]

Duane "D.J." Blanchard, who held {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}, called the all in bet of Bryce Daifuku, who held {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}.

The flop was disastrous for Daifuku when it came {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}, giving Blanchard a set. When the {10-Hearts} hit the turn, the entire table started to exclaim, "Heart!" Sure enough, the {A-Hearts} hit on the river! Unfortunately for Daifuku, it paired the board and gave Blanchard a winning full house.

Daifuku was eliminated from the tournament while Blanchard is up to about 158,000.

Lost in the Amazon

They've been breaking tables at record speed since the dinner break, and you'd think players would have figured out the drill by now. As they broke one more to leave us with nine, a player was taking his time getting to his new seat. He kept his chips on his former table for a minute or two, wandering around, adjusting his racks, trying to kill as much time as possible without playing a hand. He did a good job of acting genuinely faklempt, but eventually, the floor ran out of patience. They herded him to his new seat and got him into the action before he could skip out on another hand.

Warning: Stay Away From Ramdin

If Lady Luck has been on anyone's side tonight, it's been Victor Ramdin. He went all in for 19,000 from the cutoff and the big blind called in the dark.

Ramdin: {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Opponent: {q-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Simple arithmetic would tell you that Ramdin was a big dog, but when the flop came {10-Clubs}{q-Spades}{a-Diamonds}, Ramdin found himself with the nuts, which held through the {3-Clubs} on the turn and the {4-Hearts} on the river.

After the pot Ramdin said, "I refuse to go down, folks." He's now at about 55,000.

One More Pro Gone

We didn't catch the hand but one of the most recognizable names in the field has been eliminated. John "The Razor" Phan is no longer in the tournament.

Deeb Crippled, Then Eliminated

[user153638]

Over at Table 299, the player in the small blind bet 5,500 when the flop came {9-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. Shaun Deeb, who was in the big blind, made the call. When the {7-Spades} hit the turn, the small blind bet 11,500. Deeb again called.

The small blind fired 25,000 when the {4-Hearts} was revealed on the river. Again, Deeb made the call. The small blind turned over {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for three sevens. Deeb mucked his hand and was left with only 16,000.

A few hands later, Deeb was all in and then all out.

Vincent Jacques Misses Second Chance

Quebec's Vincent Jacques won't be able to pull off a final table repeat this time around. He came in second in Event #5 and made a deep run in this event. However, he busted shortly after the last break of the evening and will have to root on his buddy Mathieu Clavet, who is still alive and kicking.

Defrande Busts Voegele

[user153638]

On a board of {10-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, Octavian Voegele pushed his short stack all in and was called by Jeremy Dufrane.

Voegele: {Q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Dufrane: {J-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Dufrane sealed the victory when the {10-Diamonds} hit the turn. The {7-Hearts} on the river made Voegele's elimination official. Dufrane is up to nearly 130,000.
