Event #7: €10,450 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event

Ace on the River Puts an End to an October Niner

October Niner Steven Gee got his last 8,000 or so in preflop and was racing against Phil Hellmuth.

Hellmuth: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Gee: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

"That's a good flop for you," Hellmuth said after the dealer put out the {3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{9-Spades}. "That's a good turn too," he added when the {2-Spades} turned. Gee was on his feet and just needed to dodge an ace and queen on the river. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {A-Diamonds}. With that, Gee's pursuit of a bracelet will have to wait until the Main Event final table at the end of October.
